Before you leave our facility, you will be given written instructions for your care at home. You may also receive a prescription for medication, which you will need to fill at the pharmacy of your choice.

Patients who will be having local anesthesia only may typically drive themselves home. Patients who are having surgery involving general anesthesia or sedation must make arrangements for a responsible adult to bring them home and stay with them for at least 24 hours following the surgery. A map and driving directions are available in the "Contact Us" section of our website.

Once you return home, be sure to follow your doctor's orders regarding diet, rest, medication, and activity. If you have any questions or problems, please contact us immediately. A Wisconsin Surgery Center nurse will contact you a few days after your surgery to see how you are and answer any additional questions you may have.

Due to the number of insurance plans, we recommend that you contact your insurance company if you have specific questions regarding your coverage. Our fees are not included with the surgeons' and/or anesthesiologists'. After surgery we will file insurance claims for you (as long as you have provided us with copies of your current insurance cards). Any amounts not covered by your insurance, such as deductibles or co-insurance, will be collected on the day of surgery.
